Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help with the Overall Ball, which will take place in June and is Habitat’s largest fundraiser each year. Positions are available on several committees and the work is fun (and there’s always quality snack). Registration is open for Basin Recreation spring Blast Ball, Tee Ball, Baseball, and Softball programs for kids in preschool through 9th grades. Blast Ball and Tee Ball participants will have a mix of practice and game time each session, while Baseball and Softball leagues will play teams from across the County. The Park City Library's Spring 2024 art exhibit features watercolor artist Alicia Vineyard and interdisciplinary artist Nina Miller.
From March 18 through 31, Wasatch County Library and Park City Library in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity will pay tribute to President Jimmy and First Lady Rosalyn Carter with an interactive art installation. Each library will display a door symbolizing the Doors of Opportunity opened by the Carters through their work for affordable housing. The public is welcome to write their notes of thanks and tribute. More information at habitat-utah.org.
Kimball Art's exhibit "Under Construction" will be open from March 8-May 26 from 10:00-5:00 pm. The exhibit brings together the work of two renowned built landscape photographers. Lewis Baltz (1945-2014), captured Park City's rapid growth in the late 1970s as his images of Prospector Park describe its dramatic transformation from a former mining town into a thriving ski resort. Artist Rodrigo Valenzuela in his series American-Type, responds today to Baltz's work. For more information, go to kimballartcenter.org
Participants will read "The 30-Day Money Cleanse: Take Control of Your Finances, Manage Your Spending, and De-Stress Your Money For Good" by Ashley Feinstein Gerstley throughout the month of April then get together on Wednesday, April 24 from 5-6 for a book discussion. Sports 4 Girls, a partnership program with Basin Recreation and Game on! is the perfect fun way to introduce girls in kindergarten through 2nd grade to team sports. Session is April 1-May 6 on Mondays from 4-5pm.
