Summit County Fire Warden and a 25-member crew are continuing work to contain the Tollgate Canyon fire after a night of little fire activity and no recorded fire growth. Two firetrucks stayed overnight to watch the flames.
Officials are hopeful that lower winds and increased relative humidity are expected to assist efforts.
Firefighting efforts today will focus on securing the northeastern corner of the fire as well as mopping up areas along I-80 where debris fell along the shoulder of the road.
Tollgate residents are being asked by officials to avoid Forest Meadow Road and to drive slowly.
The fire has burned 287 acres, with containment at just 10% as of this morning.
