Fire In Wallsburg

UPDATE: Saturday 10:00 a.m.

Wasatch County Fire District reported a fire in Wallsburg, located near Little Valley Road last evening at around 9:30 p.m.  Some homes were evacuated along the road.

At around midnight, Wasatch Fire said in a post that they had been around the entire perimeter of the fire. They said crews will be working through the night doing mop-up and preventing flare ups. Officials are now reporting the fire is 60 percent contained. Power is expected to return at around 3:00 p.m.

Wallsburg Mayor Celeni Richins, as well as members of the city council, opened up Wallsburg’s city hall for those displaced for the night. The evacuation was lifted at 8:00 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The size of the fire has not been reported at this point.

Wasatch County Fire also thanked citizens for their concern and encouragement.
