Park City Tour Changes Things Up - They're Asking Participants To Use Public Transportation

parkcity.org

About 70 people are participating on this year’s annual city road tour. This year, city and county leaders and staff, as well as members of the Leadership Class 24 will be spending the next several days in Bozeman and Livingston, Montana with a stop at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What’s different this year? Take off. No longer does the luxury bus leave from Swede Alley. KPCW’s Melissa Allison has more:

Organizers decided it would be best to start City Tour in an area that wouldn’t add to traffic or take up parking in Old Town.

The Quinn’s Junction Trailhead overflow parking lot and Leadership Administrator Minda Stockdale said it just makes sense.

“We do like to leave for City tour somewhere there’s a restroom for people to use before we go, so we decided on the Quinn’s lot," Stockdale said. "And we’ve been coordinating with police so they’ll do an extra security watch so they’ll do a couple more swing throughs of that lot. But we will also remind our City Tour attendees that they’re parking there sort of at their own risk and we’re asking first and foremost that people, if they can, carpool, get dropped off the morning we leave and we leave really early."
