Park City Yoga Studio Opens With New Owners

Park City Yoga Studio

After owning, operating and teaching yoga  for the last 15 years, at Park City Yoga Studio, Lisa Needham is moving on to pursue her other passions -- singing and performing. She has sold the studio to Park City resident Robin Marrouche. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.

Since leaving the Kimball, Robin Marrouche has gone on to run the Susan Schwarz gallery on Main St. She’s also looking forward to owning and operating the yoga studio with her sister in law Nadime Moukarem.

“We just acquired the Park City Yoga Studio from Lisa. We’re delighted. My sister in law is moving here next month and she is a huge lover and practioner of yoga. So this will be a nice way for her to meet the community. We want everyone to come check out the new studio and the new boutique and hear about the new schedule and we have excellent pass specials for the month of July.”

The studio closed for a few days this week for some painting and other minor cosmetic improvements.

We’re keeping it very much of the vibe.  Lisa has created such a gem with Park city Yoga Studio so you don’t want to change that. It’s very special there and the spirit. And her vision and legacy are very much still a part of this.  She’s staying on to help us with the transition. She’ll continue to teach - such a beloved member of the community - so we wanted to make sure we preserved that and just freshen up.”

The class schedule will look similar with some additional classes being added.

Maggie is adding classes – 3 days a week and some of the other teachers are adding. Sue is adding one on Fridays and we’re adding a kick asana class with Michelle  on Sundays. Lindsay Marshall is adding a yin class on Tuesday nights. So all the same teachers are staying on and many of them are adding to the schedule and we will continue to add. Maggie is offering workshops on the weekend -- Aruveyda workshops. So all of that will be available on the site and we will be sending news about that shortly.”

Farasha  Fashion consultant Vanessa DiPalma Wright will be stocking the studio’s boutique, with high-end, yoga and athletic clothing.

We are absolutely thrilled and not a lot of people may know this. When I started Farasha 9 years ago, Robin was my first collaborator. She invited me to be her first pop up boutique in Park City  at the Kimball Art Center. So it really is a Zen collaboration  as we’re calling it.  We’ve come full circle.  And as you know Farasha has rebranded as a full service fashion consulting company. Our objective is to support emerging designers.  And the Farasha Fit concept is actually curated to not only hav  form but obviously functionality of clothing but to support all women emerging designers.

The Park City Yoga Studio is located at 1662 Bonanza Drive. Pass specials including punch passes as well as monthly and annual passes run through the month of July.
