Friends of the Park City Library accepts donations of books, current magazines, books on tape, etc. year round at the library, 1255 Park Ave. The books are sorted into categories and sold at the Friends' Annual Used Book Sale over Labor Day weekend. Historic Main Street Walking Tours are back again for the Summer Season! This one hour tour is a great way to familiarize yourself with Main Street or simply learn something you never knew before. Tickets are available at the Park City store on the day of the tour for $5. Tours are subject to weather conditions, and are capped at 15 guests per tour. Adopt-A-Native-Elder needs drivers to deliver supplies to Elders on the Navajo Reservation this fall. Drivers take their own vehicles and pay their expenses while getting a special opportunity to directly assist Native Elders in the company of other caring volunteers. Volunteer drivers are the only way we can get food to the Reservation. Please help Adopt-A-Native Elder make sure that the Elders receive their food this fall. The Summit County Council seeks public input on the proposed Resolution 2010-11, a bond for up to $25 million, slated to be on the November ballot. The bond would finance all or part of the costs to acquire recreational open space property, construct trails and related improvements, and pay costs of issuance of the bonds. The public is asked to provide comment at the County Council meeting Wednesday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m., at the Sheldon Richins Building, 1885 West Ute Blvd, Kimball Junction. The Rail Trail waterline construction will be moving into the Wyatt Earp area. Wyatt Earp Way to the Skid Row trail will be closed to pedestrian and bike traffic. A detour will be established and signed, indicating a safe route of travel for pedestrians and cyclists. Please respect all signage, as well as the detour, in the name of safety.

Join Principal Pops Conductor Jerry Steichen as he leads the Utah Symphony and the Duke Ellington Orchestra in a concert featuring music by one of the most influential figures in Jazz history. A prolific composer, Ellington created over two thousand pieces of music in his 50 year career. Pieces to be performed in the upcoming concerts include Take the A Train, Caravan, Cotton Tail, and many more. The Mountain Trails Foundation presents the 30th annual Tour de Suds mountain bike hill climb Sunday, September 19th. A mass start from City Park to the top of Guardsman Pass. The distance is a 7 mile hill climb on single and double track trail, with a 1,700ft. elevation gain. The post race festivities will take place in conjunction with the Park Silly Sunday Market on the deck of the Town Lift Plaza, located on Lower Main Street. Prizes for best costumes will be awarded. Join new Music Director Thierry Fischer as he leads the Utah Symphony in his first appearance of the 2010-11 season. The much anticipated performances feature violinist Hilary Hahn performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, which contains a wealth of pure romantic lyricism. The program also includes Stravinsky's The Firebird featuring music of sumptuous hues, striking fantasy and orchestral enchantment. On September 25, celebrate National Public Lands Day at the Provo River Watershed Festival at Jordanelle State Park. The festival will include vendors and educational booths, live music, and food. Fly fishing demonstrations, kyaking, guided watershed tours and geocaching adventures are just some of the many activities available throughout the day. Mark your calendars for the Friends of the Library annual Author Luncheon! This year's Author Luncheon will feature Michael Norman, author of On Deadly Ground. It will be held on Wednesday, October 20 at Deer Valley's Silver Lake Lodge. Doors open at 11:30. Tickets are $35 if purchased by active FOL members, and $40 by non-members.
