A few spaces are still available in the Park City School District preschool program for kids ages 3 and 4. The program is held at McPolin Elementary School and taught be well qualified teachers. PCHS Hockey Club Practices

Park City High School Hockey Club

The Park City High School Hockey Club will begin practices on Monday August 18 at the Park City Ice Arena for the upcoming season. Games with other Utah High Schools start in mid-September. Previous hockey experience is not necessary. We are also looking for players interested in becoming goalies. Equipment and specific goalie training will be provided. Adult High School & GED

If you are over 18 and you didn't finish high school, it's not too late. Enroll in the Park City School District adult program. Just come any Monday or Wednesday night between 5 and 8 and sign up on site. The cost is only $35 per year. It's held in the PC Learning Center, 2400 Kearns Blvd. We start Sept. 3 and continue thru the school year.

Walking Tours of Historic Main Street

Did you know that Park City had a Chinatown? More than 1,000 miles of tunnels lie under Park City's mountains? 2 saloons thrived on Main Street in the late 1880s?The population of Park City in 1900 was about the same as today? Student Exchange Program

Local host families are needed for the non-profit A.S.S.E. International Student Exchange Program. Host families can choose students from countries like Germany, Japan, Spain and more! Students 15 to 18 years of age would live with host families while attending local high school and learn about American culture and improve their English language abilities. Operation Crosswalk

Heads up drivers! when you approach a crosswalk this summer. Non-uniformed police officers will be using the crosswalks as way to reduce common violations and increase public awareness. Motorists who don't obey crosswalk laws may recieve warnings or citations. The most common crosswalk violations are failing to stop at a clearly marked stop line, failing to yield to pedestrians and overtaking or passing a vehicle that has stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross. The times and locations of Operation Crosswalk will be announced throughout the summer.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY Snyderville Basin/Summit County Prohibited Practices include washing sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, roads or paved areas except to alleviate fire, health or safety hazards. The excessive use, loss or escape of water through breaks, leaks or malfunctions in the water user’s plumbing for 48 hours after the water user has discovered the break, leak or malfunction is prohibited. Also, all valves with spray or stream sprinklers shall be scheduled to ONLY operate between 6PM and 10AM to reduce water loss from wind & evaporation WATER IS LIFE.

New Entrance into Park City Ice Arena & Sports Complex, and National Ability Center

A new temporary entrance has been opened at Quinn's Junction leading to the Park City Ice Arena and the National Ability Center. The new entrance is located 1000 feet south of the old entrance which is now restricted to construction traffic only. Everyone looking to reach the ice arena, sports complex, or National Abiltiy Center will be forced to use the new entrance. West Elm in the Main Gallery

In her exhibit, West Elm, artist Brittany Powell will create a site specific installation in the Main Gallery of the Kimball Art Center depicting a succession of wall-sized pages from the West Elm catalogue, turning the mass-produced into something unique.

PCEF Clambake

Join the Park City Education Foundation for their Fourth Annual Clambake Dinner, Dance & Auction Saturday, September 27 at the Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley Resort. Special performances include students and teachers of the Park City School District. This is the Education Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the season! PCPD Unveiling

Beautiful murals depicting life past and present in Park City have been commissioned for the new Police Station and will be unveiled at a public reception at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 29. The Newpark Amphitheater will end its summer series this Thursday, August 28 with Downright Blue. The band has opened for ZZ Top and played Sundance last year. The music starts at 6 PM at the Newpark Amphitheater.

BBQ fundraiser

The Park City Fire District presents a Hawaiian Aloha BBQ fund raiser on Friday Aug 29, at Fire Station #36, at the Canyons, from 10am to 8pm. There will also be a NASCAR pit crew challenge. The Mustang club will be there, preparing for Saturday's Grand National Car Show on Main Street and back at the Canyons on Sunday.

Summit Challenge 1/2 Century Bike Ride

The National Ability Center & Park City Chrysler Jeep Dodge are hosting a new 1/2 century bike ride in Park City! The Summit Challenge will hit the pavement on August 30th and take riders on a scenic tour around the Wasatch Back for some great Labor Day weekend fun. There will be both a 15 mi. and 50 mi. loop. The Summit Challenge Ride

Join the National Ability Center and Park City Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge for the Summit Challenge, a 1/2 Century bike ride on Aug 30. Share the road with local bike legend, Ryan Barrett and other top riders on a scenic tour through Park City, Peoa, and Kamas. A 15-mile loop is also offered, and event includes post-race BBQ, music and kids' activities. Proceeds benefit the NAC's adaptive cycling and other programs.

Park City Foundation Community Fund Grant

The Park City Foundation has revised its annual grant process to be more streamlined. The new changes consist of a September 1st deadline for a 300 word (maximum) proposal. Select organizations will then be invited to submit a full application by October 15th.
