On Wednesday, October 17 at 11 am at Deer Valley's Silver Lake Lodge....Peter Rock will be the featured speaker at the FOL luncheon. He will talk about the process of making his book, My Abandonment, into the 2018 Sundance movie, LEAVE NO TRACE. Based on a true account of a teenage girl and her father living 'off the grid' in a wilderness preserve in Oregon. The Director of the movie LEAVE NO TRACE, Debra Granik, also brought the award-winning Winter's Bone to Sundance in 2010. Peter Rock was born and raised in Salt Lake City and now lives in Portland, OR. He is a Yale graduate and professor of creative writing at Reed College. Rock is the author of eight novels. His next work, The Night Swimmers, will be published in early 2019.
