A Park City Attorney is being considered as a member of the state Alcoholic Beverage control Commission.
Gov. Gary Herbert nominated Park City lawyer Thomas Jacobson to fill a vacancy on the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission – previously held by another Park City man, Jeff Wright.
According to a press release, Jacobson has practiced law in Utah and California for the past 40 years. He has an undergraduate degree from Utah State University and a law degree from the University of Utah.
In a prepared statement, he said he is honored and humbled by the governor’s confidence in him and if confirmed, he added, will serve the position with absolute dedication and service to the people of Utah.
Jacobson's appointment is subject to Utah Senate approval. He would replace Jeff Wright, whose term expired in July. The seven-member commission oversees the activities of the DABC, sets policy, and issues liquor licenses and permits
