The KPCW 2018 Summer Pledge Drive kicks off Monday, August 20. This year, the public radio station is adding a twist to the semiannual fundraising campaign.
Twenty-five nonprofit organizations will each sponsor one hour of the pledge drive. During their hour, representatives will explain to listeners how their organization benefits from the exposure they receive on KPCW programming, as well as the free public service announcements KPCW provides them throughout the year. Supporters of those nonprofits can call in and donate money to KPCW. (They can also donate online by clicking on the DONATE button on the top right of the screen on kpcw.org. If you donate online, please list which nonprofit you would like credited for your donation.)
KPCW will give the top four nonprofits who raise the most money AND the top four nonprofits who get the most unique donations, up to six months of free produced underwriting spots on KPCW. Those eight prizes equal more than $10,000. This helps the winners spend more money on their programs, and less money on marketing - a win-win!
KPCW is a nonprofit that helps all other nonprofits by helping them spread the word about their mission in the community. And now, more and more people are listening to KPCW through the station's website, or downloading the app, or listening to smart speakers in their homes. ("Alexa, Play KPCW.") That means the radio station's reach goes beyond the limits of its broadcast signal in Summit and Wasatch Counties. Now people across the country and around the world who feel a special affinity to the Park City & Heber Valley areas can always "Listen Like A Local."
