Police Arrest Easter Morning Robbery Suspect

Park City Police have made an arrest following an Easter morning armed robbery at a Main St. restaurant. Officers from the Park City Police Department and the local drug task force BACKNET, arrested 46 year old Christopher Schutte – a Park City resident  about 6:30 Thursday night at the Kimball Junction Hampton Inn. Schutte was charged him with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Burglary – both first degree felonies. He was booked into the Summit County jail. Police believe they have the suspect who on Sunday morning walked into Flanagan’s Irish pub and restaurant at 438 Main Street and began filling a duffel bag with expensive wine. When an employee questioned the suspect, he pulled a gun , before making his way out the back door to Swede Alley.

Detectives are continuing their investigation. According to Park City Police Captain Phil Kirk, the arrest was made with information provided by individuals after viewing the news coverage. Investigators will follow up with the owner on possible reward compensation. The suspect was an employee of the business until he was terminated about 18 months ago. Investigators will be looking at possibility of additional charges against Schutte.
