Rep. Blake Moore Sworn In To Congress For 1st District

Blake Moore

Congressman Blake Moore has been sworn in as a Member of the 117th Congress to represent the First District of Utah in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congressman Moore was joined by his wife, Jane, and his eldest son, Max, as he took the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol on Sunday.

In a prepared statement Moore said he’s grateful for the opportunity to represent Utah and he looks forward to quote, “championing aspirational, inclusive, and pro-growth ideals,” to the U.S. House of Representatives.

A native of Ogden, Congressman Moore graduated from the University of Utah after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Seoul, South Korea, and earned a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration at Northwestern University. He has worked for small businesses and in the foreign service, experiences he says that will guide his work on domestic and foreign policy.

Moore and his wife spent time in Southeast Asia and Washington D.C. before moving back to Utah to  take a position with Cicero Group, a Utah-based consulting firm. Here, Moore led projects in education, financial services, public policy, healthcare, and  transportation. He believes this background in customer service and problem solving will make a difference in Washington, D.C., as he identifies ways to help the federal government work more like Utah.

Congressman Moore and his wife have three boys. Even after being sworn in, he said his most prized title is “Little League Coach.”

Moore replaces Rob Bishop who served the First District for 18 years.
