Park City's Day Of Giving Coming Soon; Volunteers And Corporate Sponsors Wanted

Live PC Give PC

Park City's 11th annual community fundraiser is a little over a month away.

The Park City Community Foundation has raised over $16 million in ten years of hosting Park City's support of local nonprofits.  Despite COVID-19 limits last fall on in-person gatherings, the foundation raised more money than ever, bringing in $3.4 million, which was a million more than the year before.

The Park City Community Foundation Vice President of Communications and Marketing Christine Coleman said its mission is to be a resource and advocate for all the nonprofits in Park City. She said Live PC Give PC turned into a holiday for some people.

"It's 24 hours of giving. It's a key fundraiser for our nonprofits. And it happens all day. People are out on the streets, waving signs, encouraging their friends and neighbors to give and get involved. The giving actually happens online. And we will also be doing some in-person events this year, which is really exciting because we weren't able to do that last year the same way that we normally do."

She said the money raised last year during COVID-19 was inspiring. The foundation has a goal to get 6500 unique donors. She said it's about participation and the community coming together.

To participate as a nonprofit during Live PC Give PC, an organization must be a 501-3-C aiding the Summit County community.

"It's truly inspiring to see the whole community come out. It's turned into a bit of a de facto holiday for a lot of people in our community. Kids get involved in schools get involved with people from all different neighborhoods. Last year, we saw more involvement from neighborhoods that we hadn't had involved before. So, we're excited to continue that involvement, really all about the participation and the community's generosity and coming together. That's what we're striving for. So, the goal is the number of donors. It's not how much people give. People can give a minimum donation of $5, and we are thrilled with that."

They're looking for volunteers to take on the role of community or neighborhood  ambassadors. They also need help with donation stations. Contact the Park City Community Foundation to get involved with Live PC Give PC.

Coleman also said they're still looking for a few more corporate sponsors.
Nonprofits must submit their applications for participation by September 30. There is a mandatory meeting for all nonprofits that are participating on Thursday at 4 PM via ZOOM.

On November 5, there is an outdoor community gathering to celebrate the day, with more details coming.
