Wasatch Back voters to decide city leadership and future of schools and open space

Voters living within municipal boundaries are being asked to decide who they want to lead them for the next 4 years. There are a number of mayoral and city council contests along the Wasatch Back. Additionally, here in the Park City area, voters are being asked to vote on a $79.2 million school bond to pay for the first phase of the Park City School District’s master plan.

Voters in Summit County will decide if they want to float a $50-million open space bond. Even those living in unincorporated Summit County will get to vote on that.

Voters in Wasatch County are being asked to decide whether they support a RAP tax – a 1/10th of 1% sales tax that will go for recreation, arts, and parks.

It’s too late to register to vote online, but you can vote on the day of the election with a provisional ballot.

Tuesday, Oct. 26 is the last day to request a replacement ballot if you have not received your original.

Monday, Nov. 1st is the last day to mail in your ballot. All ballots must be postmarked by the day before election day.

Tuesday, November 2nd is election day – you can vote in person at a polling place or drop off your ballot at a drop box before 8 p.m., when the polls officially close. There will be nine drop boxes, including at all three Summit County library branches, at Kimball Junction, Kamas and Coalville. Additional drop boxes are located at the Park City, Coalville and Oakley city halls; the People’s Health Clinic; The Market at Park City and Fresh Market at Jeremy Ranch.

In Wasatch County, you can vote early at the county clerk’s office at 25 North Main St. in Heber, through October 29th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Drive through in-person paper ballot voting and same day registration by provisional ballot will be located on Election Day at the Wasatch County Outdoor Arena at 415 Southfields Road between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Drop boxes will be available at 25 North Main St. at the Clerk’s office or outside on the northside of the parking lot.

If you aren’t registered to vote on election day, you can still register and cast what’s called a “provisional ballot” at a polling place. You will need two forms of ID in order to vote – one that verifies your identity and one that proves your name and current residence.
