 The Park City Traffic Control Center has been up and running since the end of December. How does it work, and will it make getting around town easier during peak traffic times? KPCW’s Emily Means has this.

The Park City Council Tuesday postponed approving amendments to the design guidelines in the historic residential code, saying the public should understand what’s in them before the council signs off on them. KPCW’s Emily Means has more.

Former Utah Transit Authority CEO and President Jerry Benson has been brought on as a consultant for the Park City transit system. KPCW’s Emily Means has more.

Transportation Planning Manager Alfred Knotts introduced Benson at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. Knotts said Benson will provide the city with “industry standard review” and will advise on items such as customer service and community involvement.

The November election saw three citizen initiatives qualify for the ballot, with all of them garnering enough votes to become state law. But the Utah legislature’s replacement of the medical cannabis law outlined in Prop 2 has some voters wondering what’s the point in voting for those initiatives if they can be augmented by the legislature. House Minority Leader Brian King thinks voters can likely expect alterations to the other two initiatives in the future. KPCW’s Emily Means has more.

Rita Coolidge released her 18th solo album, “Safe in the Arms of Time,” in May 2018, after years away from the studio. With a career spanning nearly five decades, Coolidge decided now was the moment to skip the record companies’ artistic direction and make an album that was true to herself.

The Park City Council is considering two measures that will authorize the issuance of $80 million in bonds Tuesday. KPCW’s Emily Means has more.

Park City High School

Park City High School dancers will see the fruits of their labor born out on stage this Tuesday. KPCW’s Emily Means has more.

Summit Land Conservancy

The Osguthorpe family is opening the farm on Old Ranch Road to cross-country skiers this Saturday. KPCW’s Emily Means reports.

Cross-country skiers have the chance to ski the Osguthorpe Farm from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12. Summit Land Conservancy Executive Director Cheryl Fox asks that participants park at Willow Creek, and the organization will shuttle people to the farm. Fox says this parcel of land lends itself well to cross-country skiing.
