A motorist was killed Saturday night in a collision with a semi-truck on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir.
A report from the Utah Highway Patrol said that on Saturday at about 7:40 p.m. a white Kenworth semi-truck, pulling two tank trailers, was heading eastbound on 40—about 40 miles away from Silver Creek Junction.
UHP said a gray Honda Accord was heading northbound on Strawberry Road. When the Accord pulled out in front of the semi, attempting to make a left-hand-turn onto the highway, the Kenworth slammed into it on the driver’s side.
The Highway Patrol reported that the male driver of the Accord, identified as 25-year-old Gaje Combs, from American Fork was killed. The only other occupant in the Accord, a female passenger, was flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Kenworth, the only occupant there, was taken to the Heber Valley Medical Center.
