After Six Month Smiths Grocery Store Now Accepting Visa Credit Cards Again

Smiths Grocer

All Smiths locations, including Kimball Junction and Heber City will again be accepting Visa credit cards starting immediately.

A small banner on the Smiths website announced the change reading that the chain “now accept(s) Visa credit cards,”

The Salt Lake headquartered Smiths, a division of Kroger, announced in March of this year that they would no longer accept Visa credit cards starting on April 3rd. The reason the company gave at the time was because of excessive interchange and network fees that Visa and it’s issuing banks had charged retailers.

Smiths re-added Visa Credit cards back to the cards they accepted alongside Mastercard, American Express, Discover and all debit cards.
