Three Park City residents have filed to fill the unexpired term of school board member Phil Kaplan. That person is expected to be named next week.
Due to some scheduling issues, the Park City school board has pushed back open interviews of the three candidates, who have filed to fill the unexpired term of Phil Kaplan in District 1.
The applicants include former teacher, union negotiator and sports agent Tommy Tanzer who is currently a member of the Park City Education Foundation. Tanzer lives in Deer Valley and has lived in Park City since 1978.
A new elementary school for grades 5 and 6 is in the early design stages with the Park City School District. The location has not been settled upon yet and many people have questions about the overall plan. Carolyn Murray has been following the discussions and has this story.
