The Annual "Live PC Give PC" Fundraiser Is Just Days Away

livepcgivepc.org

Some 114 nonprofits have signed up to participate in this year’s Live PC Give PC fundraiser. Last year, more than $2 million was raised for local organizations - this year organizers hope to best that. Melissa Allison has more:

The 8th annual day of giving provides local nonprofits an opportunity to get in front of donors they otherwise might never have met.

One-hundred-and-seven nonprofits participated last year. Park City Community Foundation Programs Director Ollie Wilder said they help the organizations prepare for the event which takes place on  Friday, November 9 this year.

“We hold a series of webinars and in person trainings. We had a digital marketing workshop, for example,” Wilder said. “But really, in general, the nonprofits are getting better and better at what they do. They’re getting better at having impact and they’re getting better at raising money and this becomes a great platform for that to happen.”

The Park City Community Foundation organizes and hosts the event. Board Member, and Chair for Live PC Give PC Mike Ruzek said the goal this year is to have 4,500 unique donors.

“And different than years past where we had monetary goals, here we’re looking for a participation goal,” Ruzek said. “So last year, we had a little over 4,100 unique donors and so we’re really looking for that community involvement and changing the metric a bit more towards the individuals.”

Wilder explained what a unique donor is.

“So, for the purposes of 4,500 unique donors giving on the day, if you give to several nonprofits we’ll just count you as one for that goal,” Wilder said. “But each time you give to a nonprofit you also count as a unique goal to that nonprofit and that’s what drives the leaderboard prizes.”

The nonprofits with the most unique donors have a chance to win extra cash.
Ruzek said there are three prizes.

“On the main leaderboard we have the first prize of $2,500, $1,500 for 2nd and the $1,250 for 3rd,” Ruzek said. “And then on the sub-leader boards, which are Caring for Each Other, here the prizes go to $1,250, $750 and $500. The other boards are Energizing and Enlivening, Keep on Moving, Protecting Where We Play and Sparking Minds leaderboard.”

The nonprofits can only win one of the leaderboards, regardless of how many they might lead.

People can go to livepcgivepc.org and click on “donate.” It will pull up a list of all of the nonprofits participating and it all counts toward the day.

The prizes are based on the online donations.

There will also be a 21-and-over party at High West on the same day from 8 to midnight. Admission is free, but it is a cash bar.
