A group of long-time business owners and former government officials met last week with the owners of Park City Mountain Resort and Vail Resorts to see if they could ensure that the resort opens this winter. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher reports.
The two sides in the Park City ski resort fight have been ordered into mediation by Thursday District Judge Ryan Harris and now have until August 15th to see if they can reach a resolution.
In last week's oral argument the Park City Mountain Resort said it has tried over and over to find a resolution. At the same time, the attorney for Talisker Land Holdings and Vail offered what he said is a solution to the problem. Rick Brough has more.
While Park City leaders have gone on record saying they don't have a dog in the fight between Park City Mountain Resort and Vail Resorts and Talisker, the reality is they do - and sent a letter to both parties last week offering to help them settle their legal disagreements for the good of the entire community.
