Members of the Park City Council were in high spirits as they met Thursday, which was the deadline for the city to close on the purchase of Bonanza Flat. The Council approved three important agreements to help seal the deal -- and heard the news that they received one more grant to take them to the finish line. Rick Brough has more.
With the financial support of thousands to raise millions of dollars – a couple of hundred people celebrated Friday afternoon – the purchase of Bonanza Flat. KPCW’s Melissa Allison brings us the story.
“Funds are Still Needed but Park City Won’t Turn It’s Back on Bonanza Flat” reads the message in the Park City Municipal’s press release on Monday. Thirty five hundred individuals and dozens of business, non-profit and municipal entities have chipped in. Carolyn Murray has more:
The Salt Lake County Council has reconsidered and will chip in money to save Bonanza Flat after all. Following a contentious debate Tuesday, the council voted for a second time on the funding, and in a 5 to 2 vote, agreed to contribute $1.5M to the effort.
