Park City Streets Manager Troy Dayley says Poison Creek jumped the bank on the south end near Iron Horse Drive and Bonanza.
“For about 20 minutes we had the southbound lane closed, and then the system caught back up with itself," Dayley said. "It was the rain coupled with the spring runoff, and it was a heavy rain that pushed the levels beyond what the system could handle.”
Dayley says the road is open again. No one was hurt and no accidents occurred because of the flooding. The City responded by placing sandbags at the site.
“We’ve left the sandbags in place, just in case we have another heavy, heavy rainstorm like that," Dayley said. "But by the time we really got the sandbags in place and started working the site here, it started receding on its own.”
Dayley says that location was the only site affected by the downpour. If anyone sees flooding, Dayley says to dial 911 and report it to the Park City Police Department, where it will be dispatched to the appropriate responder.
