Head-On Crash On Highway 40 Results In Three Serious Injuries And Death Of A Dog

Utah Highway Patrol

A head-on crash Saturday night on Highway 40 seriously injured three motorists, and killed a dog.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred Saturday night at about 12:45 a.m. on the highway between Duchesne and Strawberry Reservoir.

A Nissan pickup truck occupied by two men was westbound. The report said that due to possible impairment from drugs or alcohol, the Nissan driver crossed the center median and collided head-on with a Subaru Outback, occupied by a female driver and her dog.

The two men, with life-threatening injuries, were LifeFlighted to area hospitals. The Subaru driver, also with serious injuries, was flown to the University of Utah. Her dog died in the collision. Highway 40 in both directions was closed for about three hours for clean-up and investigation.
