Hearing In Park City Teen's Drug Distribution Trial Set For December

A hearing in Summit County’s juvenile court is set for early December, to hear evidence against a Park City High School girl facing four counts of drug distribution.

However, her attorney said Friday she intends to file a motion to suppress some of the prosecution’s case.

Charging documents filed against the girl last summer allege she had ordered drugs from overseas on the Dark Web.

Previous to that, the girl allegedly played a role in obtaining the synthetic opioid, Pink, which lead to the overdose deaths of friends Grant Seaver and Ryan Ainsworth in September 2016.

At a hearing in juvenile court Friday morning, the girl’s attorney, Mary Corporon said she intends to file a suppression motion.

Corporon did not offer any details, except to say it involves statements taken from her client.

She said she anticipates she can file a “bare-bones” motion by next Wednesday.

Juvenile Court Judge Elizabeth Knight set an evidentiary hearing for December 7th at 9:40 in the morning. There was some discussion of a trial date, but the judge said she can better schedule that after the hearing in December.
