Heber City Police Arrest Man After Discovering iPod With 60 Images Of Child Pornography

Heber City Police Department

A Heber City man has been arrested after child pornography was found on the man’s iPod.

According to a probable cause statement 19-year-old Grant Johnson was arrested by Heber City Police for 20 suspected counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, all of which are 2nd degree felonies.

Officers became aware of Johnson’s iPod on May 8th when a Heber City resident called Heber City police to let them know they had found a device they believe held child pornography.

The citizen found the iPod and, in an attempt, to identify who the owner was charged the device in their car. Once the iPod was charged the citizen discovered the child pornography and called Heber City Police.

Heber City police then obtained a search warrant for the iPod before turning it over to Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory in Salt Lake City. Police said they observed nearly 60 pictures of prepubescent child pornography and that the registered username on the iPod belonged to Johnson.

Johnson was booked into jail on Tuesday afternoon, bail was set at $200,000.
