After a high speed chase on 248 Thursday, an individual was taken into custody.
The suspect, 36-year-old Jarred Pacheco of East Carbon, was trying to evade deputies who had a warrant for his arrest for car theft, according to Summit County Sheriff's Lieutenant Andrew Wright.
Pachecco’s boss informed police that he would be arriving at his home in Kamas. Around 2 p.m., the suspect ran from the police. He headed westbound on State Road 248 traveling over 100 miles per hour.
Utah Highway Patrol set up a spike strip, near the Jordanelle Overlook in Wasatch County. Pachecco ran over the strip and crashed intointo another parked car.
At this point he took off on foot through the Hideout neighborhood. Deputies found him and took him into custody around 4 p.m.
The sheriff's office is still working on the case, but Wright says Pachecco will likely face felony charges for running from the police, evading police in a pursuit, and an additional felony charge because the vehicle he was driving was stolen.
