How Your Plastic Use Impacts Marine Life

Oceana Logo

In this episode of This Green Earth Dr. Kimberly Warner, a senior scientist with Oceana talks about a report released last week, the non-profit research institution, Oceana, found evidence that nearly 1,800 animals from 40 different species of aquatic and bird life are ingesting plastic and becoming entangled in rope, nets and other material made of it.  An amazing 88% of these species are listed within the Endangered Species Act.  Dr. Warner talks about the report's findings and what we as consumers and recyclers of plastic must do to help reduce the tons of material from entering our oceans.
