It's Live PC Give PC Time Of The Year

PC Community Foundation

The Park City Community Foundation launches their ninth annual Live PC Give PC, annual day of giving, on November 8th at midnight. It lasts 24 hours with 117 non-profits participating this year.

Community Foundation Impact Director Ollie Wilder says there are some new organizations that they’ve brought on this year. Donations are done electronically done on their website, Livepcgivepc.org.

“So those 117 non-profits are represented there. You can click on donate and you can get to a search where you can figure out which of these non-profits do you know and love, or you don’t know and are going to love, and you can give to each one right there.”

Community Foundation board member and event co-chair Mike Rusack explains the goal setting model adopted last year is more inclusive of the community because it counts the number of unique donors rather than a dollar figure.

“So last year we did raise $2.4 million which was well in excess of what we raised the year before. This year the goal is 5000 unique donors.”

They’ll count unique donors based on the email address associated with the donation. Wilder says it will make for a fun competition between non-profits.

The leader boards are sponsored by Park City Mountain and Vail Resorts Epic Promise. They’re paying 2500, 1500 and 1250 for the big, non-profits leader board winners who come  in first, second and third place. While Mountain Trails has historically been a favorite, Wilder says there are some organizations that are starting to catch up.

"When we say unique donor, we mean one person, whether they give to a lot of organizations or just one. That one person counts as a unique donor. Now each time they give, they count toward another unique donor for that specific non-profit and that determines the leader boards which have prizes.

There’s a separate new donor challenge which starts at Midnight on November 8. And then a power hour that won’t be announced until the day itself. A boost of $20 will be given for each donation during that hour. Rusack describes the leader board competition in which the top three winners will win additional money based on different categories.

“We have a caring for each other leader board which is sponsored by Blue Sky Ranch or Blue Sky Utah.  Energizing and enlivening leader board which is sponsored by the Talisker Club. Keep on moving which is sponsored by the U of U Health Care. Protect where we play which is sponsored by the Park City Community Foundation.  And sparking minds which is sponsored by Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. The Community Foundation adds onto it, 1250, 750 and 500 based on first, second and third place.

Live PC Give PC begins November 8 at Midnight but they’re taking donation now. Go to livepcgivepc.org. Find the donate button or scroll through to find a cause.
