Jeremy Ranch Roundabout Work Underway

Summit County

The Jeremy Interchange Roundabout project is starting up in earnest. Summit County Manager Tom Fisher said it’s important for local drivers to stay informed, either by going to the county’s project website, or signing up to get emails.

Fisher told KPCW that the first big disruption on the project will start on Wednesday.

“Mostly on the Pinebrook side there’s going to be some major detour of traffic. You're still going to be able to get through everything as was directed in the contract, but you're going to have to pay attention. Because there's going to be different ways that you're going to have to get places in order to get around. So, we're really telling people if you haven't signed up for the email updates just send an email to info@letsgosummit.com. You'll be immediately signed into that email list that continually sends out updates. Or go to the let's go summit.com website to see what the detours will be. We have some graphics up already.”

Fisher advised locals to stay informed, to figure out the best detour routes that will work for you.

“We're really trying to, and our contractor is trying to get the regular traffic flow around those future roundabouts in before school starts. Certainly, before snow flies for this next winter. I would suggest really looking at those websites to see what the traffic flow is going to be. To see how your trip is going to be affected. If you can avoid the interchange, please do. Because there's going to be delays through that area. So if you have a way to use the Summit Park exit or Kimball Junction to get to your destination that might be a better suggestion.”

He compared the access for the Jeremy Ranch neighborhood and that for Pinebrook.

“You can get to Jeremy Ranch through the Kimball Junction interchange if you take Rasmussen Road from that interchange. You can't get there from Summit Park. so, Kimball Junction and Jeremy Ranch are your ways to get to Kimball Junction. Pine Brook has a little bit more access because we can get there from Summit Park and Kimball Junction. It's going to be inconvenient. It's going to slow us down. I live in that area it's going to slow me down too, so I'm just making sure I'm well informed on what the changes are going to be. I hope that everybody is doing the same.”
