Memorial Day Fire Near Heber

The Wasatch County Fire Department responded on late Monday afternoon to a blaze east of Heber, which is being called the Little Pole Fire.

In their last update, the Fire Department said the fire had been 45 percent contained, and personnel would monitor the area overnight looking for hot spots.

Wasatch County Fire said on their Facebook page that the fire was human caused, but had no other details.

At about 5:30, they reported some 8 to 10 homes had been evacuated, between 4800 and 5700 East.  However, by 6:30, they said the evacuation order had been lifted.    In addition, a helicopter request for the fire was cancelled.

As of 8 p.m., Wasatch Fire said that 21 acres had been burned in the blaze.
