Superintendent Ember Conley left the Park City School District in 2018 to lead the  Mesa Arizona Unified School District. A story Monday morning in the Arizona Republic newspaper reports she has been placed on a paid administrative leave.

According to reports, Mesa Unified School board members voted early Monday morning to place Superintendent Ember Conley, on paid administrative leave. The report states it is non-disciplinary. Board President, Elaine Miner, is reported to state that they have been working hard to do the right thing.
Mesa Unified is the largest school district in Arizona. There are about 62,000 students enrolled there. Park City by contrast, has less than 5000 students. In December of 2017, Conley announced her decision to not renew her contract which was ending in May of 2018. She remained through her contract, ending out the school year in June of 2018 and providing some transitional assistance through that summer. She accepted the role as Superintendent of the Mesa School District at a salary of $225,000 a year along with a $900.00 stipend. She started her three-year contract in the fall of 2018.
A board member specified that the leave is considered "non-disciplinary" but did not give a reason for the decision.
KPCW contacted the president of the Mesa Unified School Board for comment but has not received a response.
