The Park City Library has announced they will be reopening for in-person services starting on Monday, March 1st.
It will be nearly a year -- 352 days, in fact -- since the Park City Library first shut its doors at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Utah. The library was open for limited services like curbside book delivery over the summer, but shut back down again as the pandemic ramped up last fall.
When the library opens back up on March 1st, it will be a huge sigh of relief for Park City Library Director Adriane Juarez.
“The lifeblood of the library is the people in the community coming through the door,” says Juarez. “We are pleased beyond belief to be able to be opening those doors once again.”
Juarez says Monday’s opening will allow for in-person book browsing in addition to study tables and the use of computers. Masks will be required, as well as social distancing.
The library is not offering indoor storytimes or family programs at this time, but it is Juarez’s hope that once vaccinations become more widespread and the weather gets warmer, those services can move outside for Park City’s families.
Juarez says she hopes the opening will make things feel a little more normal around town.
“The library belongs to the community,” she says. “Without them in it, the library is just not the same. We are the community’s living room and it does a librarian’s heart good to see the public walk through the door once again. We’ve missed everyone, we’re so thrilled to take this step back towards normalcy, and so please come see us. We have missed you and we can’t wait to see you Monday and moving forward.”
Starting Monday, March 1st, the Park City Library will be open Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Curbside pickup hours are Monday-Saturday, 2pm-5pm.
