The Utah Department of Health announced one more COVID-19 death on Saturday.
Saturday’s death was identified as a Salt Lake County man between the ages of 45 and 64, who was hospitalized at the time of his death. To date, 2,180 Utahns have died of the disease, 12 in Summit County, 21 in Wasatch County.
Statewide, the Health Department reported 472 new COVID-19 cases. The rolling seven-day average of positive tests in Utah is now 378 per day.
Both Summit and Wasatch Counties reported single-digit numbers of new cases on Saturday.
The statewide averages for the percent of positive laboratory tests held steady on Saturday. The people-over-people average rose by one-tenth of a percentage point to 5.9% and the tests-over-tests average remained at 2.9%.
There are currently 152 Utahns in the hospital for COVID-19, 12 more than Friday. Statewide COVID-19 referral center ICUs are now 72.2% full.
Vaccinations continued statewide with just under 16,000 doses administered since Friday. In total, 2,030,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state and the Health Department reports 866,000 people have been fully vaccinated.
In Summit County, 80% of eligible individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine and Wasatch County has fully vaccinated over 9,200 people.
