Summit County reported a record number of new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
Summit County announced 35 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, the highest single-day count since the start of the pandemic and the first time the county reported more than 30 cases in a day. Summit County reported 30 cases on Friday.
Wasatch County reported 17 new cases on Saturday, one day after a record-setting 28 cases on Friday.
Statewide, the Utah Department of Health reported 1,724 additional cases on Saturday. The state had a record-setting day on Friday, recording 2,292 new infections.
The Health Department also reported three additional deaths, including one male between the ages of 25 and 44.
The state’s seven-day rolling average of cases is now 1,638 and the average of positive laboratory tests is 18.4%.
