Three Arrested And Charged For Auto And Retail Theft And Drug Posession

Park City Police

The Park City Police Department arrested two women and one man Tuesday for vehicle and retail theft. They’ve also been charged with possession of drugs and paraphernalia.  Carolyn Murray has this:

A Sundance parking attendant contacted the Park City Police Department while working in the Walgreens parking lot on Park Ave. They noticed odd behavior as the suspects made multiple trips back and forth to the car with what looked like stolen retail items. When the police arrived at the parking lot, the car pulled away.

Park City Police Sargent Jay Randall said they put out a bulletin to officers in the area, and they pulled the car over for a traffic violation at the intersection of Kearns Boulevard and Comstock. The officer ran a check on the vehicle and learned it was stolen.

“Based on that all three of the occupants were detained and then an investigation started into the stolen vehicle and possibly the property that was within the stolen vehicle. Once we got a little further down the road, all three of the suspects were brought to the station and interviewed. Subsequently, we ended up with confessions for several different things, 1- stolen vehicle, 2- stolen clothing items and beauty products, and also some drug paraphernalia products were levied. So, all of this was based on a real intuitive individual who paid attention to something that was not normal and reported it, which was a great, great thing.”

The car was stolen from Taylorsville a couple of weeks ago. Randall can’t yet remark on the specifics of the stolen items or the details of the drug possession charges. He said there will be additional charges based on what they discover inside the vehicle.

The three individuals who have been charged are Alisha Yoder, Natalie James and Joseph Walker. They are all thought to be from the Salt Lake Valley.

Randall said they should have the investigation completed by the end of this week. No bail has been set at this reporting.

“The drugs themselves. One was located on one person and we are under the belief that there are additional drugs in the vehicle which would belong to all three parties.  But, in this case, they are all bondable, but we are talking about a felony level for some of the drugs and also for the stolen vehicle. The bail would be considerably higher than a misdemeanor charge.”

At this point, Randall doesn’t know how much was stolen and from which stores.

“And, unfortunately it’s a little too early to tell. We have to kind of go through the car and once we get finished with everything that way, then we will know better where the property belongs. But there were numerous properties inside the vehicle that we suspect at this time might have been stolen.”
