29/29 Utah counties reporting.
For State Senate District 26, Republican Ronald Winterton defeated Democrat Eileen Gallagher 64% to 33%.
For State House Representative from District 53, Republican Logan Wilde defeated Democrat Christopher Neville 66% to 33%.
For State House Representative District 54, Republican Tim Quinn defeated Democrat Meaghan Miller. 51% to 48%.
Democrat Brian King won the State House of Representatives District 28 seat. King ran unopposed.
Utah residents saw a nonbinding opinion question on their ballot alongside three propositions.
The non-binding question asks voters if they supported a 10-cent-per-gallon tax increase that would be used for public education. Utahns voiced they did not support the proposed tax increase. 33% of Utahns for and 66% voting against.
Residents voted in favor of Proposition 2 which will legalize medical marijuana. 53% voted for the proposition with 46% of Utahns voting against.
Proposition 3 also was passed. The proposition will expand Medicaid coverage to more Utahns. 54% of Utahns voted for with 45% voted against.
Proposition 4 is too close to call. If passed the proposition would create an independent redistricting commission to prevent gerrymandering is the final proposition on Utahns ballots. As of this report 50.29% of Utahns voted for Prop 4 with 49.71% voting against.
Provisional ballots and other potentially incomplete reporting by any of Utah's 29 county clerks offices mean that extremely close races such as Prop 4 are too close to call.
