Some good news is that the flames are moving away from the homes and other structures nearby in the Interlaken area. Still as a precaution several homes were evacuated in the area.

Janet Carson of the Wasatch County Fire District said early Tuesday afternoon that the fourth fire in the area within a week is accompanied by a wind.

"It’s moved up one hillside and down the other," Carson explained. "We do have state lands and forestry here, as well as Wasatch County Fire and Wasatch County Public Works. Hopefully we can just get a grip on this before it gets much bigger.”

Wasatch County Sheriff's Office, Heber Police Department and hand crews from the Lone Peak Hotshots are also on hand to assist. The fire is located above the Dutch Fields neighborhood several homes were evacuated as a precaution, early Tuesday afternoon the fire had grown to 100 acres.

"We’re trying to keep everybody safe and trying to keep it from heading down towards these structures," Carson said.

The first fire in the area occurred last Wednesday afternoon, fires two and three occurred Monday and were to the east of the first fire. The Wasatch County Fire District is still not sure what’s caused the fires in the area.

“It’s all still under investigation," Carson said. "We’ve not made any determination or found any clues that will give us an idea. We’re just not sure right now.”

Wasatch County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the suspicious nature of the fires. They’re asking for the public's assistance in identifying any individuals or circumstances that me be connected to the fires. Those with information can call 435-654-1411
