Wasatch County Man Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Abusing A Child On A Hunting Trip

A Wasatch County man has been arrested after a child told authorities the man had sexually abused him while the two were on a hunting trip.

59-year-old Wallsburg resident Arthur Jepperson was arrested and booked into Utah County Jail on Monday, July 15th, for aggravated sexual abuse of a child and tampering with a witness.

Jepperson was arrested after an eight-year-old boy told authorities that Jepperson had pinched the boys bum over his clothing and attempted to touch him under the clothing while the two were hunting near Mt. Timpanogos in the fall of 2018.

The boy sustained physical injury and significant emotional trauma in connection to the assault.

Jepperson allegedly told the boy that if he were to cry, he wouldn’t take him hunting any more and that it was something that adults do. He also threatened the boy that he would fire his father if the boy told anyone.

Jepperson told officers that he had never been alone with the boy on the trip. Jepperson said two people could collaborate his story, but when interviewed the two men could not confirm Jeppersons story.

His bond was set at $30,000
