A wildfire in Weber Canyon has been contained.
Fire crews responded to a wildfire in Weber Canyon just east of Oakley at 10:45pm Friday night. Fire officials say the blaze was caused by a downed power line. As of Saturday morning, the fire has been suppressed.
Multiple fire crews, Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Deputies and Search and Rescue were at the scene overnight as the fire grew to over 75 acres in size. Fire officials tell KPCW several homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution but none were lost to the fire. One small unoccupied building did burn down.
Officials say cooler temperatures and precipitation on Saturday helped firefighters contain the blaze quickly.
