The 7-day rolling average of new cases in the state is now 2,611 per day.

Summit County’s seven-day average of positive laboratory tests is currently at 20%, and nearly 35% of tests are coming back positive in Wasatch County.

The percent for positive test results on Wednesday in the state is about 42%. The statewide 7-day rolling average is about 22.5% which is up from Tuesday’s percentage of 22%.

And the department announced 17 new COVID-19 deaths, now the state has surpassed 900 deaths since the start of the pandemic, with 906 COVID-19 related deaths. Summit County has seen five since the start of the pandemic and Wasatch County has reported 13.

Utah’s Department of Health reported 144 new hospitalizations Wednesday. There are 571 people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. And about 82% of all ICU beds are currently in use.

Summit and Wasatch Counties along with 24 other counties in the state are in the high risk level of Utah’s COVID-19 transmission index. But there have been alterations to the original guidelines, now masks are mandated throughout the state and limits on social gathers are suggested not required.
