Two Park City residents came up with the same winning name for the new special event space at the Park City Christian Center. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.

The 2,500 square foot  special event space opened earlier this year but until now, it was nameless. The Christian Center staged a naming contest in March and recently chose the winner – in this case winners.  Christian Center Special Events and Marketing Director Debbi LaBelle says both Nina Chartrand and Teresa Tackman we named as winners for submitting the name The Gathering Place.

“It feels right,” said LaBelle. “When we saw this name, we all kind of immediately noticed it and realized that it has the right feel that we want to have. The Christian Center is really a unique gathering place for our community so it couldn't be more fitting.”

The Gathering Place not only establishes an event venue for large events, corporate meetings, and film screenings, it also generates revenue for the center’s programs and community initiatives.

The space includes a commercial kitchen, a 700 square foot patio overlooking the ski resorts and a state of the art audio visual system.

Rental pricing is based on a tiered system. There are already a few long term renters, including a church. Starting later this year, the Gathering Place will host the twice a week senior citizen lunches and meeting space.

Tours of the center can be arranged, and you can check the calendar for availability by going online to ccofpc.org.
