A Young Woman Is Arrested After Fleeing The Scene Of A Hit And Run - Of An Officers Cruiser

parkcity.org

An 18-year-old woman is arrested after she hit a car and left the scene of the accident. Melissa Allison tells us it wasn’t just any car – it was a police car:

Park City Police officers were investigating an accident with the Utah Highway Patrol at 1850 Park Ave. on October 13 just before midnight when a black land rover clipped one of the police vehicles – knocking off the sideview mirror.

Park City Police Captain Phil Kirk said it wasn’t long before they found the driver.

"Fortunately, with the description of it which - traveling northbound, another officer was able to locate the vehicle at 7-11 at Park Ave.,” Kirk said. “We contacted the driver of that vehicle, it was an 18-year-old female. We ended up investigating her for driving under the influence and she was eventually arrested for driving under the influence.”

Officers arrested the young woman who was also charged with hit and run.

Also, on the watch log – Swing shift officers followed-up on a trespassing complaint on the 12th. They found several people who had mistakenly entered and stayed at the wrong condo unit.

Then on the 14th - officers responded to the 2200 block of Monarch Dr. to reports of a verbal dispute. The report describes the confrontation as getting pretty ugly.

The event – a 2-year-old’s birthday party.

No arrests were made.
