Dr. Mario Juric | Astronomy and Cosmology Department at the University of Washington

Dr. Mario Juric, an associate professor of Astronomy and the director of the Data-Intensive Research in Astronomy and Cosmology at the University of Washington. Mario works with large data sets and algorithms designed to discover undetected near-earth asteroids in our solar system.

He has worked on topics ranging from asteroids in the Solar System, Galactic structure, to the scale structure of the universe. His current focus is using survey data to understand the structure and evolution of the Milky Way. He is the leader of the Data Management team for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, a project to build the largest sky survey ever undertaken.
