When we think of snow and avalanches, we don't often think about them happening in April, May, or even June or July. But the snowpack changes its structure as it erodes. With the melt, water further compromises the structure and can create potential for avalanche. Utah Avalanche Center's Chad Brackelsberg and Trent Meisenheimer talk about the science of the spring snowpack.
