After a decision made by Park City’s Board of Adjustment, the timeframe for constructing the city’s upcoming Woodside Park Phase II affordable housing project has been delayed.

The Park City Board of Adjustment decided in June to remand the Woodside Park Phase II master planned development application back to the Park City Planning Commission based on one aspect of the project—a reduction in setbacks the board felt wasn’t justified.

The Park City Board of Adjustment on Tuesday partially reversed the decision by the Planning Commission to approve the Woodside Park Phase II master planned development, sending it back to the Commission.

The Planning Commission approved the City’s housing development at the end of May on a 5-1 vote. Soon after, resident Doug Lee filed an appeal of the Commission’s decision. Because the City is the applicant on the project, the City Council voted to send the appeal to the Board of Adjustment for consideration.

Park City Community Development Manager Anne Laurent says the work session will bring the Council up to speed on state annexation code as well as the local annexation policy. Laurent says the local policy features a boundary.

"Some of it includes things like part of Clark Ranch and things like Round Valley," Laurent said. "But there's always this question about when we own stuff, do we annex it, and some of the properties are already in the boundary, but then what's the next step?"
