Stoke Series Live

Stoke Series Live is a new, adventure storytelling event and fundraiser for the National Ability Center and it’s happening this  week in Park City.

The storytelling event is happening this Friday evening at the Shop yoga studio. It starts with beverages, gourmet small plates, and a preview of new outdoor gear. The storytelling begins at 7.

Paul Tew, the Creative Director at Backcountry, says the partnership with the National Ability works well with Backcountry’s mission.

Wasatch County Search & Rescue

Wasatch County Search & Rescue have been busy this week rescuing a handful of stranded snowmobilers.

Wasatch County Search & Rescue, also known as SAR, learned about their first pair of stranded snowmobilers at around 4:15 on Tuesday afternoon. SAR Captain Kam Kohler said a 911 call alerted rescuers that a group of four people had become stuck in the Soldier Creek area.

A new group of outdoor recreationists, the Wasatch Backcountry Alliance, is holding a fundraiser this Thursday at the Santy Auditorium. Rick Brough has more.

With all the new snow, the danger in the backcountry is extreme and two people died in avalanches in 48 hours.  KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.
