Dave Thacker, Park City Chief Building Official & Fire Code Official has announced a ban on fireworks, explosive devices, and open fires within Park City limits effective immediately and in effect until further notice. Residential BBQs and briquettes are the only exceptions. The ban is due to current conditions of hot temperatures, high winds, low humidity and dry vegetation— all of which significantly increase the risk of wildfires. It's likely that the law restricting open fires and private fireworks in unincorporated Summit County will be lifted soon, due to recent weather conditions.
