Wet weather the past few days may seem like a good sign for the upcoming fire season, but Summit County fire officials warn the county could see some challenges this summer. David Boyle reports:

  On today’s program, Host Leslie Thatcher speaks to Dave Nichols, the chairman and founder of the U.S.  Adaptive Bobsled and Skeleton Association and one of 4 original founding athletes. The International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee decided Monday to include Paralympic bobsled and skeleton in the 2022 winter games. Summit County Fire Warden Bryce Boyer is in studio with fire report on two fires burning in Summit County.

It's likely that the law restricting open fires and private fireworks in unincorporated Summit County will be lifted soon, due to recent weather conditions. 

With the fire season coming on, an idea being explored by state government could have a major impact on counties and cities. The Summit County Council heard Wednesday that the state might take on all the costs on fire fighting. Rick Brough has more.
