The Utah Strong Recovery Project is offering free help to anyone experiencing stress, anxiety or depression due to COVID-19.  A crisis intervention counselor is available 7am-7pm, seven days a week. All information is confidential and free of charge. Call or text 385-386-2289 or email utahstrong@utah.gov and give your first name and phone number only.  Counseling in Spanish and other languages is available. For after hours needs, call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). The Utah Strong Recovery program is operated by the Utah Dept. of Human Services through a FEMA grant.

We discussed films in Spanish that will be shown in the auditorium in the Park City Library and the Ecker Hill Playing Fields by the Park City Film Series

 

Carla Astorga - Affiliate Steering Committee Chair, NAMI for Wasatch/Summit Counties

We continued our discussion about the Person to Person program by NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), a 10-class weekly series focused on individuals suffering from mental health illnesses like schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and others that affect the Hispanic/Latino community. The classes are in Spanish and free and open to the public.

We discussed the "Dangers of Border Crossings" event that took place May 18th at the Park City Library to discuss the effects of the current political climate, and how it affects the latino community. The exhibit featured art, poetry and other presentations.
