On the heels of announcing his retirement, two-time Olympic champion, Ted Ligety decided to end his ski racing career on Saturday. This is six days before he planned to compete in his final race, the giant slalom at the world championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.

Ligety is the most decorated U.S. male skier with seven Olympic or world itles.
